Meet the Team
Joe is the architect of the systems that The Scarpetta Group develops. He started working with FileMaker over 25 years ago, helping businesses streamline their companies’ processes and creating applications to make them run more effectively.
After 15 years of being a problem solver in education management, Beth found and fell in love with FileMaker just before the pandemic. She approached this new tool and career path with the finesse of a steam roller and went from citizen developer to software developer in less than three years, enabling her to receive the Rising Star Excellence Award from Claris in 2023. Beth lives in the Chicagoland area with her husband, two daughters, and two dogs.
James’ focus is designing beautiful FileMaker layouts. He has strong skills with integrations to accounting systems and translating business requirements to a successful user experience. When not building applications you can find him behind his camera.
Mandi is passionate about helping people and improving efficiency. With 10 years as a FileMaker user and observing a database build, she became fascinated by understanding its intricacies. She joined The Scarpetta Group as a Project Manager, pursued junior development, and continues to support clients and developers—something she loves to do. When not working, you’ll find her with her animals, from reptiles to small animals.
Paul’s background spans a wide range of industries and platforms, with a focus on helping businesses simplify processes and unlock the full potential of their data. His expertise includes the entire Claris FileMaker Platform—from FileMaker Pro, Server, and WebDirect, to FileMaker Cloud and integrations via ODBC, FileMaker Data API, and REST API.
Gilles Charles is a PMP-certified Project Manager who brings structure, calm execution, and client-focused communication to digital delivery. His background spans agency and consulting environments, where he has led web, marketing, content, analytics, and platform-based initiatives for healthcare and public-sector clients. With experience coordinating cross-functional teams, vendors, budgets, timelines, and stakeholders, Gilles helps keep projects organized from kickoff through delivery. He is based in Atlanta and holds a Master of Public Health from Mercer University.
Alcides, with a background as a physicist and mathematician, began developing systems in 1994. He helped create the first management system for the school while he taught physics and mathematics. He later worked in various areas related to IT, audio and video streaming systems for the journalism school in Denmark, and created ERP for companies in Brazil. When he’s not sitting in front of his computer, Alcides is traveling with his 5-year-old daughter and his beautiful wife.
With over 25 years of experience as a FileMaker developer, Tony has honed his expertise in creating data-driven applications across desktop, mobile, and web platforms. His extensive experience includes 8 years as a Senior Systems Engineer at Claris. He has provided valuable tools to businesses of all sizes, including small and multinational corporations such as Ocean Spray and Johnson & Johnson. While not always confined to an office environment, he has been known to travel the world by various modes of transportation, including motorcycle, sailboat, van, and bicycle.
Genesis is an Administrative Assistant with strong experience in supporting teams, managing projects, and coordinating day-to-day operations. With a background in marketing and client services, she brings organization, attention to detail, and clear communication to everything she does.
